Kofi Owusu Peprah is a Ghanaian gospel musician, worship leader, and minister known for his spirit-filled songs and powerful live performances. He has emerged as one of the prominent voices in contemporary gospel music in Ghana, blending modern worship with traditional highlife influences.

Born and raised in Kumasi, Ghana, he comes from a strong Christian and musical background. He is the son of legendary gospel musician and pastor Rev. George Owusu Mensah, whose influence played a major role in shaping his musical and spiritual journey.

Early Life & Education

Peprah grew up deeply rooted in church life, which significantly shaped his musical foundation. He attended Kumasi Anglican Secondary School and later studied Agriculture Mechanization at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), graduating in 2014.

During his university years, he was actively involved in music, serving as a music director for student Christian groups and playing bass guitar before eventually discovering his strength as a singer.

Career Beginnings

His music journey began to take shape around 2018 when he served as a backing vocalist for renowned gospel artist Joe Mettle. This period was crucial in his development, exposing him to professional ministry and performance.

Despite financial and academic challenges, he remained committed to music—often traveling from Kumasi to Accra for rehearsals and prioritizing ministry over other responsibilities.

Before fully committing to music, Peprah worked with Ghana’s Bureau of National Investigations (BNI), now the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB).

However, due to strict professional restrictions that prevented public exposure, he was forced to choose between his career and music. He ultimately resigned to pursue gospel music full-time—a decision he describes as life-changing and fulfilling.

Kofi Owusu Peprah sees music primarily as a ministry rather than a commercial venture. He has consistently emphasized that gospel artists should focus on spreading the message of Christ rather than pursuing financial gain.

Personal Life

He is married and comes from a family of five children. His upbringing as a pastor’s son limited his exposure to secular media but strengthened his grounding in gospel music and Christian values.
